The Dreamer’s Legacy

Years later, when Ibrahim had died peacefully in Egypt after being reunited with his beloved son, the brothers feared that Yusuf might finally seek revenge against them. After all, their father was no longer alive to be hurt by family conflicts.

They sent a message to Yusuf saying, “Before our father died, he instructed us to tell you: ‘Please forgive your brothers’ sins and the wrongs they committed in treating you so badly.’ Now please forgive the sins of the servants of the God of your father.”

“I am about to die,” he told them, “but God will surely come to your aid and take you up out of this land to the land he promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. God will surely come to your aid, and then you must carry my bones up from this place.”
